School-Based Occupational Therapy

At St Raphael’s School, we are committed to a child-centered approach that provides every student with a bright and inspired start. As part of this promise, we are proud to introduce School-Based Occupational Therapy in partnership with Occupational Therapy for Children (OTFC), beginning in 2025.

OTFC’s highly trained therapists use a sensory and evidence-based approach to guide their therapy.

This initiative is designed to empower our students by addressing their unique developmental needs within the familiar and supportive environment of their school.

What is School-Based Occupational Therapy?

School-based occupational therapy focuses on helping students overcome challenges that may impact their learning, social interactions, and overall well-being. By working directly in the school setting, occupational therapists can observe and address specific difficulties in real-time, tailoring strategies that align with classroom goals and daily routines.

This program will support students in areas such as:

  • Fine motor skills, including handwriting and tool use.
  • Self-regulation, helping children manage emotions and focus on tasks.
  • Social participation, fostering positive relationships with peers.

Through close collaboration with teachers and families, therapists will provide tailored support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
