St Raphael’s School Learner Dispositions
Today I met with the student representative group, Student Voice, to gain their insights on our draft list of learner dispositions.
Over the past number of weeks, students, staff and families have contributed to the process of identifying five key learner dispositions that students can develop and use to boost their learning.
Our draft list is as follows:
RESILIENCE
CURIOUSITY
THINKING
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY
COLLABORATING
Our Student Voice group spent some time today unpacking these concepts and explaining their understanding of them. Some important insights the learners raised were:
Being brave is important to our learning but is it more a part of being resilient or taking responsibility?
You use your brain to think but you also need to use your imagination.
When collaborating with others you need to listen and be open to each other.
Being curious is the first step, but you need to be inquisitive – to actually inquire into what you are wondering about.
This rich conversation will help us to make these ideas accessible to all learners in our school.
